Ticket to Play (Repeat)
The 2024-25 round of Ticket to Play applications have now opened.
Ticket to Play is a Tasmania Government initiative designed to reduce the cost of sport and active recreation registration/membership for eligible children. It is a way for those eligible children to get into sport where it may otherwise have been financially out of reach.
Ticket to Play provides two vouchers worth up to $100 each to be used towards club membership or registration fees.
Who is eligible for a voucher?
Applicants must be:
- aged between 5 and 18 years old at the time of application; and
- listed on a valid Services Australia Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card or
- be in approved out of home care or
- a temporary or provisional visa holder, undocumented migrant or international student.
Apply for a voucher here.
What do the vouchers do?
The vouchers reduce the participant's membership/registration fees by up to $100 per voucher.
For example:
- If registration fees are $80, one voucher will cover the whole amount
- If registration fees are $150, one voucher will cover $100 and the participant will need to pay the remaining $50 or use a second voucher
- If registration fees are $250, two vouchers will cover $100 each and the participant will need to pay the remaining $50
Note: Vouchers can only be used for a single transaction. So while each voucher can be used on different things i.e $100 discount to two different registration fees (or two different sports), if you use a $100 voucher on a $50 registration fee, you do not get to use that remaining $50 anywhere else.
This round of vouchers will be eligible until Friday 13 June 2025 at 5pm.
What to use the vouchers for?
These vouchers can be used for a wide range of sports with the approved providers listed on the website.
More information about Ticket to Play can be found on their website:
https://www.tickettoplay.tas.gov.au/
Ticket to Play - Volleyball (Repeat)
The best use for Ticket to Play vouchers if used for Volleyball is for the Junior Development Program which can still be joined for 2024.
Players that join the program from Term 3 will have a reduced registration fee of $260 so the use of two vouchers will leave an outstanding fee of $60. There will be a further discount if only joining in Term 4 which would make the fees fully covered by the vouchers.
The Volleyball Junior Development Program allows attendance at 3 sessions as a trial period with recommended trial sessions be on Sundays 4-5pm (girls) and 5-6pm (boys) at Elizabeth College as these are tailored to beginners.
