Mathmatics

This term in Maths, we will be looking at converting between 12 and 24 hour time and using this to create our own schedules and timetables. We will continue to build on our knowledge of fractions from last term and look at adding and subtracting fractions of the same or related denominators, as well as adding and subtracting decimals.
Later in the term, we will further improve our practical skills in using protractors to accurately measure angles and identify the different angle types. In space, our understanding of the connection between 2D shapes and 3D objects will continue to deepen as we build objects from their nets. We will also be looking at location using the Cartesian plane and consolidate our knowledge of place value when placing negative numbers on the plane.
We will continue to practice our multiplication and division tables daily through collaborative activities and have opportunities throughout the week to consolidate and extend our understanding of topics using Maths Online.
Home learning for Maths will be set weekly utilising resources including Maths Online and Hit the Button.
