Year 7 2025 Transition Day! Stepping Into High School Life

Excitement filled the air last week as we welcomed our incoming Year 7 students for their Transition Day. This special event gave Year 6 students the chance to experience life as a high schooler at John Fawkner College, try new classes, and begin building connections with their future peers and teachers.

A Warm WelcomeThe day began with an assembly, where students were introduced to key staff and student leaders who guided them throughout the day. 

Engaging Taster SessionsStudents rotated through a series of exciting lessons designed to spark curiosity and enthusiasm for their Year 7 experience:

• Food Technology: In the kitchen, students channelled their inner chefs, learning to prepare chocolate truffles. They eagerly measured, mixed, and rolled their creations, which they proudly took home.
• Maths Meets Art: Creativity and logic collided in this combined session, where students explored geometric designs and created stunning patterns. The activity highlighted how mathematics can inspire creativity in unexpected ways.
• Soccer with Melbourne Victory: On the sports field, students joined in the action as part of our Melbourne Victory School of Football program. The soccer session emphasised teamwork, skill-building, and, most importantly, fun!
