Learning and Teaching

As we close out another successful academic year, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our students for their hard work and dedication and to our staff for their unwavering support and guidance of students in their care.

 

As the Christmas school holidays approach, I encourage all students to set aside time for reading. Reading enhances literacy and critical thinking skills and fosters creativity and a lifelong love of learning.

 

Students are reminded to complete any assigned holiday homework to ensure a smooth transition into the next academic year. It helps maintain momentum and sets the foundation for success in the new academic year.

 

STATIONERY REMINDER 

A reminder to ensure your child has a fully equipped pencil case for the start of the 2025 academic year.

 

Please see the stationery list below.

Stationery is readily available from retailers such as Officeworks or Kmart.

  • Blue, black, red pens
  • Grey lead pencils
  • Coloured pencils
  • Textas (if desired)
  • Eraser
  • Sharpener
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Glue sticks
  • Subject folders (one per subject)

HOLIDAY HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONS

All students received their English novels before the Christmas break, and they are expected to read their assigned texts. The first English lesson of February 2025 will be a quiz to assess their understanding. Students who do not complete the reading or holiday homework must make up the work during lunchtimes. We appreciate your support in helping your child stay on track with their holiday homework. 

 

CHRISTMAS PRAYER AND BLESSING

As we celebrate the birth of Your Son, Jesus Christ, we give thanks for the gift of hope, peace, and love that His coming brings. May the light of His presence fill our hearts with joy and guide our steps in kindness and compassion toward others.

 

Bless our school community during this sacred season. Grant us rest and renewal, surround us with Your peace, and inspire us to live with gratitude and generosity.

 

May the blessings of Christmas fill our homes and lives, and may the New Year bring us closer to Your grace and purpose.
