Never applied for a job? Here’s how to write your application

Many employers have a standard form for job applicants. If you are applying for a job at big employers, like McDonalds or Bunnings, check for their process online.

If you are applying for a job where you need to write an application

  1. Cut out the job ad from the webpage and paste it into your favourite AI program (Gemini, ChatGPT, Co-Pilot)
  2. Ask it to write your application for the job. You can add bits about yourself in your request.
  3. When you are happy with the application that AI has developed cut and paste it into a Word document and save it.

You now have a job application that is like every other job application the employer is going to receive. You need to work on it.

  4. Go to Youth Central to see how to make your application different from every other one.
  5. Go to a Jobs and Skills Centre and ask for help to improve your application.

A reminder that applications for the January Focus on Mining camp will be closing next Tuesday 30 September. Please distribute this information to any students interested in attending.
