Founders Day

On Wednesday, we celebrated Founders Day. Each year on Our Lady of Mercy's feast day we celebrate the Sisters of Mercy as the founders of our school. We begun the day with a liturgy, giving thanks for our founders.

Students dressed in house colours and supported the Moree Vinnies shop with donations of toiletry items. A huge amount of donations were received, thank you for giving generously.

K-6 students completed class activities with a focus on our Mercy Values of courage, justice, hospitality, service and compassion. A delicious sausage sizzle was enjoyed by the whole school at lunch time.

The highlight of Founders Day was the 2nd Annual Boat Race. Secondary house teams had to construct a cardboard boat and research a  Mercy organisation. Students presented their information to the whole school before the much anticipated boat race relay took place on the oval. Congratulations to the winners of each category:

Most Creative Boat- Goretti

Best Presentation- Mercy

Fastest Boat- Savio

Founders Day continues to grow each year and we can't wait to celebrate in 2026.
