Lady Spring has arrived, and preparations for our Spring Festival are now underway! This year, we’re introducing a few new elements to the celebration and are inviting your enthusiastic participation to help bring them to life.

In Early Spring, as we move toward the equinox-when day and night are in balance-we find ourselves in a seasonal transition. The light is growing, yet Winter’s coolness still lingers. There is a ‘battle’ of sorts, where the light begins to overcome the cold and darkness. This mirrors a similar struggle within the human soul-between our old habits and our desire for growth and renewal. We each strive to “let go to let come,” just as Winter gives way to the new light and life of Spring.

Spring calls us outward. Nature begins to stir, and we often feel an uplifted sense of joy in response to the increasing light and warmth. We’re already seeing this joyful energy in the children’s play. Dancing and singing….joyful, life-filled expressions of the season…. will once again be central to our festival.

This year, we are also bringing two new image imaginations into the festival: the sunrise and the transformation of the caterpillar into a butterfly. These symbols reflect the essence of Spring-light overcoming darkness, and life being reborn in new forms. They invite us to hold a mood of renewal and possibility.

Warmly
