Handball Competition Reaches the Grand Final!

A massive congratulations to the team 'My Back'—Airlee, Benji, Dusty, Hugh, Josie, Rebee, and Tom—for becoming the inaugural champions of the St Patrick's Handball Competition! In a thrilling grand final played over three days, they put on a fantastic performance to defeat Bouncy Ball Australia and secure the title.

Below are the final standings for the ten teams that took part in the competition.

  1. My Back
  2. Bouncy Ball Australia
  3. Handball Highlanders
  4. Highland Heifers
  5. The Needhos
  6. The Rebels
  7. Handball Queens
  8. Thunder Champions
  9. The Bulldogs
  10. The Death Eye

This competition could not have taken place without the incredible efforts of Archer, Max, Oscar, and the many other students who gave up their recess and lunch breaks to organise teams, set up draws, and score matches. Your hard work is recognised and deeply appreciated!

The sporting fun doesn't stop there! Now that the handball competition is over, our Year 3–4 students are already gearing up for St Patrick’s very own Football World Cup! Planning is well underway, and more details regarding team selections and schedules will be shared very soon.

Armidale Catholic Schools Football/Netball  Gala Day

Over the coming weeks, students in Years 3–6 will practise their skills during designated PE lessons, recess, and lunchtime. Our official team squads will be announced shortly.

The school has arranged bus transportation for all participating students. Further details regarding travel and logistics will be sent home via Compass soon.

St Patrick's Primary Sports Handbook

St Patrick's now has an official sports handbook, which has recently been updated following our school swimming carnival. Additionally, the handbook has now been revised to include the new records set by Josie, Lucy, Phoebe and Thibaud at our recent athletics carnival. This book is designed to give all members of our school community a clearer understanding of when our various sporting carnivals are conducted. It also outlines the processes and qualifying times required for students wishing to represent our school at Diocesan sporting events, alongside an explanation of the representative sporting pathways your child can undertake in their respective sports.
