đź’™ Blue Class Newsletter - Week 7
Blue Class has had another focused and productive week!
English
We have been building writing stamina, and the improvement has been fantastic. Students are now sustaining longer narratives with clear structure — sizzling starts, strong complications and satisfying solutions.
We are seeing:
- Richer vocabulary
- More detailed descriptions
- Better paragraph structure
- Careful editing and punctuation
The confidence in their writing is growing each week.
Mathematics
Our focus has been place value into the millions. Students have been reading, writing, partitioning and comparing large numbers with increasing accuracy.
We have also been solving multi-step word problems and revising time concepts, including elapsed time. Students are working hard to show clear reasoning and working out.
 Science – Space
Our Space unit continues to spark curiosity! Students are learning about the Solar System, rotation and revolution, gravity and the features of different planets. The scientific vocabulary being used in class discussions has been impressive.
Geography – Are We There Yet?
We are exploring Australian geography through this engaging text, identifying natural and human features, studying landmarks and building map skills. Students are developing a stronger understanding of Australia’s diverse landscapes.
CAPA – Drama
Drama games have been a highlight! Students are building confidence, expression and teamwork skills — and having lots of fun along the way.
At Home
Please continue practising times tables daily.
Reading together for even 10–15 minutes each night makes a big difference.
