What an incredible few weeks we’ve had in our classroom! Our students continue to impress with their enthusiasm, hard work and creativity across all learning areas.
Literacy: The class has been diligently reviewing their sounds and applying these skills to their spelling and writing tasks. Not only are they building their confidence, but they’re also showing great stamina in writing longer and more detailed sentences. One highlight was our “Balloon Writing” challenge, where students wrote everything they could about balloons—sparking fantastic discussions about different types! Inspired by their imaginations, we tried making balloon animal dogs. Everyone enjoyed twisting and stretching balloons into shape, developing their fine motor skills along the way. We can’t wait to see what other fabulous balloon creations we can make next!

Maths: Our focus has been on identifying and continuing number patterns. The students are becoming true pattern detectives! We’ve also explored data—talking about the information we can collect and use. One fun project was creating a column graph using our birthdays; it was amazing to see how our class data looked and analyse it together.
Science: In science, we began our topic on living things by investigating animal body parts. Students have been fascinated by how features like wings, shells, and legs help animals move, survive, and eat. Their curiosity and willingness to ask questions make each lesson exciting and engaging for everyone.
Each student should be so proud of their progress—we can’t wait to see what adventures and achievements lie ahead! Well done, everyone!
