A Message from Keir and Emma
2026 Spring Magic Market
What a glorious day it was at BNWPS on Saturday! As one member of our community said to me throughout the day … BEST. MARKET. EVER!
The sun was shining brightly, and the faces of every community member shone brighter still. We have an absolutely beautiful community here at BNWPS, and the Spring Magic Market is such a wonderful reflection and depiction of the big heart that our community has. The school looked fantastic, and it was wonderful to see students, their families, and members of the wider community enjoying everything on offer.
The level of organisation behind the scenes to ensure the market runs so smoothly is immense. We would like to say a special thanks to some community members who took their volunteering to the next level this year through their involvement. The market is the culmination of the work of so many volunteers, and we do not have the space to list the names of every helper, but there are some who we must acknowledge by name;

Jesse Hughes
Most of you don’t get to see them, but our office administration team works hard behind closed doors for the whole market, so thank you to Audrie and Mayii for your quiet but essential input. And a very special thank you needs to go to Ange Hopkins, who has spent the past few weeks as our WMM Coordinator at the same time as performing her usual Business Manager role. Thank you for your organisation of all the moving parts, Ange! Your dedication to our school’s financial needs is well beyond anyone’s expectations.
Term 3 Finishes Friday 18 September
School will finish at 2.30pm on Friday. We will have an end of term assembly on the basketball court starting at about 3.10pm. We look forward to seeing everyone return to school on Monday 5th October. Don’t forget that all students should have a sun-smart hat for term four!
Leadership on Leave
This week, Emma is taking some leave while she travels with her family. In week one of term four, Keir will be taking some leave. If you require support from leadership in either of these weeks, please contact the leader who is at school or try contacting Lilly (Lilly.vandyk@education.vic.gov.au) or the front office.
Emails to Keir
Often, we receive information that families are misspelling Keir’s name at the start of his email address. Unfortunately this means that the emails end up somewhere in cyberspace, but do not make it to Keir’s inbox. Keir’s name is spelt with ‘ei’ not ‘ie’ (which definitely goes against rote learned rules!) Some families have the misspelling recorded in their email history, which makes it more difficult to change the habit, as it automatically misspells whenever they write an email. Please double check that you are spelling Keir’s name correctly; it will make communication much easier!

School Calendar
The BNWPS term four school calendar will be handed out in hard copy to all students this week. Term four is already looking like a busy and fun term, with our Water Festival and 2027 Foundation transition just some of the exciting events that will be happening. Hold on to your copy of the calendar and display it somewhere at home for easy reference. As always, the dates and events in the calendar are as correct as we can get them at the time of publishing; any changes will always be communicated through the newsletter. Don’t forget to check out the back of the calendar, as it explains some of our key term four events and includes some key dates for 2027.
Enrolments Now Due
Enrolments for any year level in 2027 are now due. If you are intending to enroll your child in our school next year (or you know someone who would like to) , please make sure you have submitted your form to the office. It may seem early in the year, but this timeline is required to help us with workforce planning.
