Wellbeing News

During the final week of Term 3, our staff at St Brigid’s engaged in two valuable Professional Learning sessions dedicated to student wellbeing:
- Peaceful Kids, Peaceful Classrooms: Staff explored the benefits of mindfulness and how simple, daily mindful practices can help students improve their focus and manage classroom energy. Teachers tried out practical techniques to introduce directly to their students this term and beyond.
Positive Behaviour for Learning (Team Teach): On our end-of-term school closure day, we welcomed Roland and Lesley from Team Teach. This workshop focused on understanding distressed behaviour and effective de-escalation strategies. A key takeaway was that all behaviour is a form of communication, prompting us as educators to look beyond outward actions to identify underlying triggers, environmental factors, or unmet needs.
We look forward to applying these insights and strategies to foster a supportive, calm, and nurturing environment for all our students.
