Learning Conversations: Wednesday June 10

Gallery Image

Learning Conversations will take place on Wednesday 10th June. These meetings are an important opportunity for families, students and teachers to come together and reflect on each child’s learning progress.

Learning Conversations provide time to discuss student goals for the term, celebrate growth and identify areas where further support or challenge may be needed. They also give families valuable insight into their child’s learning before written reports are released, helping to build a shared understanding of progress, achievement and next steps.

We strongly encourage families to attend, as these conversations play an important role in strengthening the partnership between home and school. When students, families and teachers work together, we are better able to support each child’s learning, confidence and overall development.

Therapeutic Arts

As part of Reconciliation Week, we were privileged to host local First Nations community member Tash to our school to share her culture, knowledge, and traditions with the students. Tash brought along a range of fascinating artefacts for students to explore, including a Possum Fur and a Coolamon, which sparked great curiosity and discussion. Students also began preparing for a special First Nations art experience by painting base colours on rocks, ready for Tash’s return visit next week where she will guide them in traditional-inspired painting techniques. To finish the session, students enjoyed a delicious Bush Tucker afternoon tea prepared by Tash. They sampled damper cooked with lemon myrtle and had the opportunity to taste a selection of native jams, including Lilly Pilly, Blue Quandong, and Davidson Plum. It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience that deepened students’ appreciation and understanding of First Nations culture. We look forward to welcoming Tash back into our school next week.
