Stage 3 has had a fantastic start to the term and it has been a blast seeing our Year 5 and 6 students settle so confidently into their learning routines. Students are becoming familiar with their reading and writing groups, building positive relationships and showing enthusiasm across all learning areas. It has been wonderful to see students engaged, focused and ready to challenge themselves.

In Literacy, students have been exploring informative texts, with a focus on analysing text features and understanding the impact they have on readers. This learning links closely to our Inquiry unit in Grapple on natural disasters, where students are developing their research skills, working collaboratively in teams and creating group presentations to showcase their learning. We are especially excited for our upcoming excursion to the Museum of Fire in Penrith, where students will further investigate natural disasters, particularly bushfires, through hands-on and engaging experiences.

In Mathematics, students have been highly engaged in learning about time and timetables, as well as developing their multiplication and division strategies. It has been fantastic to see students applying their problem-solving skills and working confidently through new challenges each day.
