Relieving Principal's Message

Over the past three weeks, GEPS has been buzzing with activity, connection and opportunity across all areas of school life.
Our sporting programs are in full swing, with students enthusiastically participating in a range of clinics and team opportunities. Kindergarten and Stage 1 students have continued to enjoy their weekly sports clinics, while this week marked the commencement of the Years 3–6 Basketball Clinic.
It has been wonderful to see so many students developing new skills, teamwork and confidence through these programs.
Winter PSSA teams have now been selected, and we are incredibly proud of the positive start our teams have made to the season. Reports from Round 1 have highlighted some exceptional performances and outstanding sportsmanship across Girls League Tag, Boys Soccer and Netball.
We congratulate all students who have represented GEPS so proudly.
Our performing arts programs are also thriving. The school dance team, Gimbawali Aboriginal group and 3-6 choir have been working tirelessly in rehearsals in preparation for upcoming auditions and performances.
We wish our dance team the best of luck for their video audition occurring on Monday and Tuesday of Week 7 during the school day.
We are also excited to see the commencement of our new “Cultural Cuppas” initiative, which is already helping strengthen connections within our diverse school community. Thank you to the families who have joined us so far. We look forward to continuing to welcome different cultural groups across the coming weeks and encourage families to keep an eye on the invitation schedule for upcoming gatherings.
Looking ahead, we are thrilled to welcome special guests George Otero and Lisa Otero to GEPS on Wednesday next week. George and Lisa will be working with our staff, students and community around the important theme of connection, and we are very much looking forward to sharing this experience together.
A reminder to families that the King’s Birthday Public Holiday will be observed on Monday 8 June.
To all members of our community celebrating Eid, we extend our warmest wishes and hope your celebrations are filled with joy, peace and time with loved ones.
