VCE Recital
On October 9, the VCE Recital showcased a vibrant mix of talent with performances blending voice and violin, featuring a rich selection of Australian compositions alongside VCE syllabus pieces.
The evening included diverse styles, from classical masterpieces to contemporary and jazz-infused works, captivating the audience with its eclectic mix.
This celebration of musical diversity not only showcased individual artistry but also emphasised the importance of creativity within the VCE curriculum.
Twilight Open Evening
The Twilight Open Evening was a wonderful celebration of musical talent, featuring an impressive lineup of performances from choirs, dance troupes and bands.
The event showcased a wide variety of styles and genres, ranging from classical pieces to contemporary favourites that resonated with the audience.
The stage band kicked off the evening with a lively 30-minute set of jazz standards, setting an upbeat tone that carried throughout the night.
Each performance brought its own unique flair, allowing attendees to experience the rich diversity of the students' artistry and passion for music. The evening was a delightful reminder of the creative spirit alive within our school community.
Student Achievement - Noah Ha
Congratulations to Noah Ha, Year 5, for recently completing his Grade 8 Piano practical exam. Noah also participated in a recital at Steinway Galleries on 8 September. Well done on your outstanding achievement, Noah!
Music Instrumental Classes
The Music Department has many instrumental classes available, ranging from string instruments, brass and woodwind instruments, voice, keyboard and speech and drama.
Students who have been learning an instrument as part of the Year 5 Band Program and the Years 2 and 3 String Program are strongly encouraged to continue their music development by enrolling in instrumental music lessons next year.

Music Tuition Enrolment Forms for 2025
The 2025 Music Tuition Enrolment Forms are now due. If your child is interested in learning an instrument next year, please ensure to return your enrolment form to the Music Department.
For All Earthkind - looking for singers!
Are you a singer? For All Earthkind are looking for young voices of all ages to sing in their student choir. They will be holding a concert at Fed Square in the CBD on 2 November 2024.
