Acknowledgement to country
We at Marangaroo Primary school
Would like to say thank you to the Noongar people of the Wadjuk country.
For letting us share this land:
We promise to look after,
The land, the animals, and our people.
Student Achievement
Year 4 student, Oliver L recently participated in The 2025 WA Junior Chess Championship, the largest chess tournament in Western Australia. He competed in the Under 10 Division and received two Merit Awards:
- One in the main tournament, and
- Another in the Blitz competition (a high-speed game format where each player has only 3 minutes on the clock, requiring sharp thinking and strong skills).
We are very proud of his efforts and believe this is a great milestone worth celebrating. The official results can be found on the Chess Association of WA (CAWA) website at the link below:👉https://www.cawa.org.au/2025results/2025juniorstatechamps.html
Congratulations Oliver!
Pre Primary Applications
A reminder to parents of current kindy students, your applications for Pre Primary enrolment for 2026 are due this Friday 8 August. Please make every effort to have applications in on time as this assists us with class planning for 2026.
Kindy 2026 - applications for enrolment
If you or someone you know has a child born between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022, they are eligible to commence kindy in 2026. To allow us to adequately plan for 2026, we request that kindy applications be completed and returned to the front office as soon as possible.
Don't Bin it, Bring it - Officeworks recycling campaign
Officeworks runs a School Recycling Program with competitions where schools can win gift cards by returning full boxes of eligible items for recycling. The program aims to promote sustainability and divert waste from landfills. Each school that returns a full box has a chance to win a $250 gift card.
Marangaroo PS is taking part in the markers and pens recycling campaign. Each class will have a container for recycling old pens, markers and textas (no pencils) and once our school box is full, we will submit it for recycling and enter the draw to win a $250 Officeworks voucher for our school.
