Prep Learning Reflection

Week 7 - 8 in Prep
What a magical week of reading we had during Book Week! We loved seeing so many creative and colourful costumes come to school. A very big well done to Elsie, who took out first prize for her wonderful Faraway Tree costume!
During our special Book Week library session, we had the chance to explore the shortlisted books and share our thoughts about our favourites. There were lots of great stories to choose from, but Dear Broccoli was definitely our favourite!
Friday brought an extra special treat with Friday Karaoke with Mr Anthony in the library. We listened to a beautiful story about a little mouse and a leaf from an oak tree, then sang a song and created drawings showing the story changing through the seasons. It was such a lovely way to finish a very special week.
Book Week gave us lots of opportunities to dive into books we love, discover new stories and celebrate our love of reading and learning.
In Maths, we have been learning all about Friends of 10. We have been singing our Friends of 10 song and using concrete materials, such as counters, to help us see and build the different ways we can make 10. We have also been consolidating our learning through games and hands-on activities.
This week we are very excited to begin our swimming lessons! We have been in the water every day, building our confidence and developing our swimming and water-safety skills. We have been working on becoming more independent in the water, which is an important skill as we head towards the warmer months.
