Berry House Service and Fundraiser

Congratulations to Berry House on a wonderful House Service on Monday. Their theme of generosity was well presented via songs, plays and prayers. Senior School Berry House Captains, Sarah Crowle and Archie Prosser, addressed the congregation with sage advice on displaying generosity, and Rev. Peter Cook entertained us with wise words and a song.

Last Friday, Berry House raided an amazing $645.00 for the ‘Make A Wish Foundation’.

House Public Speaking Final

Congratulations to all Year 6 students who presented speeches to their Houses in the 2026 House Public Speaking competition. Their topics were creative and thought-provoking. The following students will represent their Houses in next Monday afternoon’s final at our fortnightly Assembly.

Book Week

For one glorious week, our Junior School will be transformed into a place where children are encouraged to dress as their favourite book characters, teachers become literary gurus, and parents discover that a costume apparently needs to be constructed from cardboard, glitter, felt, three toilet rolls and a box that was definitely going to be recycled. 

Book Week is always a wonderful celebration of reading, imagination and the joy of getting lost in a great story. It is also the one week of the year when it is perfectly acceptable for a child to arrive at school dressed as a dragon, a pirate, a superhero, a very hungry caterpillar—or something that requires a lengthy explanation. Please remember: the costume does not need to be elaborate. A clever idea, a favourite book and a little imagination are far more important than a costume that took six hours, three trips to Trev’s and the last remaining hot-glue stick in the southern hemisphere to complete! We look forward to seeing our students embrace their favourite characters and, most importantly, celebrate books and reading. 

So, dust off those storybooks, sharpen your creative thinking and prepare yourselves for the Book Week Parade at 9.15 am on Friday, 28 August.

Jolly Socks Day 

Standing Tall in Hamilton is a registered charity. It is an award-winning, not-for-profit, school-based mentoring program that works with students in Years 3 to 12 attending local schools. 

The Junior School will hold a Jolly Socks Day on Thursday 27 August. Students are encouraged to wear their brightest and wackiest socks. We encourage all students to bring a $2.00 gold coin, which will contribute to a Junior School donation to support a very worthy local charity.

Last weekend’s results:

Under 10 College Knights defeated College Vikings 1-0.

Under 13 College Chiefs defeated Demons Blue 4-2.

Under 13 College Warriors defeated Coleraine Maroon 6-0.

This is the final week of regular season matches.

• Under 13 College Chiefs v Demons Red - 2.00 pm at College

• Under 13 College Warriors v Coleraine Gold - 3.30 pm at Pedrina Park.
