Achievements

Congratulations to Ariana Wood!
We are incredibly proud of Ariana, a talented Year 10 dancer, who has been successful in auditioning for the NSW State Dance Ensemble!
This is an amazing opportunity that will see her perform at the State Dance Festival in Sydney this September and again at Schools Spectacular in November.
The State Dance Ensemble brings together exceptional tutors from the Arts Unit and industry professionals to support and develop gifted dancers from NSW public high schools—what an incredible achievement!
Ariana also completed the final round of Schools Spectacular featured dancer auditions in Sydney last week. We’re all eagerly awaiting the results later this term and wish her the very best of luck!
$10,000 Milestone Reached!
The amazing students of ASC's Environmental Focus Group have quietly been making a big impact since the end of 2020 — raising funds every single week by recycling empty bottles, cans and poppers from our Yellow Top Bins.
Last week, they collected $81.40, which took their total raised to an incredible $10,038.30 — all through Return-and-Earn (that’s over 100,383 containers recycled!).
Huge congratulations to ASC and a heartfelt THANK YOU to the 40+ student volunteers who dedicate their time and energy each week to make this happen. You're making a real difference — for our school and for the planet!
Some Fun Facts and Figures:
Money raised each year:
• 2020 – $13.10
• 2021 – $2,037.00
• 2022 – $2,265.70
• 2023 – $2,565.40
• 2024 – $2,392.40
• 2025 – $764.70 (so far!)
We now have 19 Yellow Top Bins across ASC, and a constantly evolving team of student recyclers — always growing as new volunteers join each year!
Where has the money gone?
• Up to $500/year to support Year 12 fundraising• Two whole-school Free Feasts (slices in 2023, BBQ in 2024)
• Microwaves, toastie makers, kettles and toasters for student use in various Year areas• Helped start the Turning Circle Garden outside the main office 🌼🌱
• End-of-year thank-you gifts for ASC cleaners
• Cleaning supplies and 40+ pairs of gloves for our hardworking team
Our current balance is $5,621.95, with $4,000 already pledged to help fund a much-needed shade sail for ASC — fingers crossed this goes ahead!
Keep recycling, ASC — every container makes a difference!
Let’s see how far we can go from here!
Congratulations, Isaac Riches!
A huge congratulations to Isaac Riches on being selected for the North West CHS Golf Team! Isaac played exceptionally well at the recent trials, standing out as the youngest competitor on the day.
Not only did he earn his spot on the team, but he also won the round, finishing as the top scorer—and was the only student to shoot in the 70s. What an incredible achievement!
Isaac will now go on to compete at the State Trials for the NSW team in Dubbo later in June, and we couldn’t be prouder.
Well done, Isaac! We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you

We are so proud of all our students and can’t wait to see what’s next for each of you—on and off the field!
