Off & Away

New Student Mobile Phone Management Plan in effect and going well!!

This term, the new mobile phone policy has been fully implemented and we are delighted with how our school  and community have responded to it !  This policy is being implemented across  NSW to increase focus in classrooms, remove distractions and promote positive social interactions in the playground.

As outlined across Term 1, students will be required follow our Off and Away procedures. Mobile phones can’t be used during school hours. We are excited to make our school a mobile phone-free space to improve learning and engagement, however, we will always make sure you can contact your child in an emergency.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school directly on 67767400.

Here are some of the really positive aspects of us ging phone free:

During break times, students appear less anxious. They are all looking at and commenting on the things around them, unlike before when they looked worried about what people were looking at or commenting on through their phones. A lot less FOMO

Staff have observed that during break times, more students are choosing to connect with those around them — playing games like handball or Uno, or simply enjoying a chat with friends.

It’s incredibly refreshing to see students choosing real connection over screen time. Watching them engage, laugh, and play—without phones in sight—is an absolute joy!

The 'Off and Away' initiative has been a great success—it's been fantastic not seeing any students using their phones during class time.
