Cross Country

On Wednesday 11th March, Greenvale Primary School came alive with energy as we held our annual Cross Country event! Students from Years 4 to 6, along with selected Year 3 students, took on the challenge of either a 2km or 3km course around the school grounds and Bradford Oval.

The day was a sea of colour, with students proudly representing their house: Cumberland (Blue), Oaklands (Yellow), Gellibrand (Green), and Woodlands (Red). Every race counted, with points awarded from 1st through to 12th place, all contributing towards the overall house championship.

Races were run across age groups and genders, with boys and girls competing separately in the 9/10-year-old, 11-year-old, and 12/13-year-old divisions. Every race showcased incredible determination, resilience, and sportsmanship, with students pushing themselves and cheering on their peers.

The atmosphere was electric throughout the morning, with loud support echoing around the course. A special congratulations goes to Cumberland House, who were awarded the Spirit Award for their outstanding encouragement and enthusiasm.

Taking out the overall title once again was Woodlands House, continuing their incredible dominance with a fourth consecutive Cross Country Championship! An amazing achievement—well done to all Woodlands runners!

Congratulations to all students who participated, and a special mention to those who placed in the top 10 and have qualified for the District Cross Country event later in Term 2. We wish you the best of luck!

Enjoy some fantastic photos from the day—thank you to Mr Cardona for capturing all the action!
