HARMONY DAY is comming!

Harmony Day is an Australian annual event. At SJV it will be held on Friday the 20th March. It is a day we celebrate cultural diversity, inclusiveness, and respect. It promotes the message that "everyone belongs" and encourages community participation to foster a sense of belonging. It is a very special day in our SJV community.
Key details about Harmony Day:
- Date: Friday 20th March
- Purpose: The day aims to celebrate St John Vianney's rich cultural diversity and encourage community, school to foster a sense of belonging and inclusivity for everyone.
- Dress up: Wear something special that represents your culture or wear something orange
- Parade: 2.30pm there will be a whole school parade on the assembly area - all families welcome
What does this mean for SJV:
We are looking for parents to support classes throughout the day. All you need is a Working with Children to volunteer.
Bullying – No Way! Student Leader Presentation Next week
Next week some of our School Captains will present information around bullying. It is something that should never happen at our school, and we all have a role in making our school a responsible and respectful place.
2. What is Bullying?
Bullying is when someone repeatedly hurts, upsets or excludes another person on purpose.
Bullying can be:
- Physical bullying – hitting, pushing, hurting someone’s body
- Verbal bullying – name-calling, teasing, or saying mean things
- Social bullying – leaving people out, spreading rumours
- Online bullying – sending mean messages or posting hurtful things online
