Year 2 - Cranbourne Botanical Gardens Excursion

Tuesday 7th May

Year 2 students will be visiting the Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne to engage in a sustainable gardening program. This ties into our Inquiry for next term as we are looking at Science, in particular how the environment affects other living things.

 

Prep Coal Creek Excursion

Wednesday 8th May

Prep students will be participating in an excursion to engage them in our History Inquiry topic for Term 2.Students will be participating in an educational experience program where they will experience what school life was like in 1901 and explore the historical village.We are looking forward to a fun and educational experience at Coal Creek.

Year 6 Immigration Excursion

Monday 13th May

Year Six students will be heading to Melbourne CBD for an excursion as part of their Term 2 Inquiry Unit. Students will be learning about immigration and the significant impact different cultures and people have had on Australia. During the excursion students will be participating in a guided walking tour beginning at Federation Square and culminating at the QV building in Lonsdale Street. The tour will be approximately 1.5km of walking in 1.5 hours. 

Year 1 Toys Over Time Incursion

This incursion will involve students exploring 'Toys Over Time" which links to our history topic of inquiry this term.Students will:

  • Discuss different types of toys, how they are made and how they work
  • Discuss the importance of various materials in the construction of multiple toys
  • Discuss how the design and focus on various toys have evolved
  • Communicate and discuss observations and conclusions.
