PRINCIPAL UPDATE

A huge congratulations to Liam K from 6SW who represented Victoria at the School Sports Australia Golf Championships in Ballarat. Liam was part of the winning group in the teams event on the first day, and continued to contribute to Victoria being overall joint winners of the competition with NSW.  We are so proud of you Liam!

In the October meeting School Council discussed the changes to the Digital Devices for 2027, unpacking what we could potentially transition toward in 2026.  This is something we want to forward plan ensuring we are ready for changes to come in 2027.

We also discussed the establishment of a Parents and Friends Organisation across the school.  We looked at Department documentation around how we can establish this and will be sending further information out later this term.  We would love to have parents, grandparents etc. sign up to this, exploring what it may look like next year and beyond.

We have almost finalised staffing and upon concluding this, will be able to share updates with community.

Last item on the agenda was the Parent Contributions in 2026.   Jacquie Clancy will be sending this information out next week.

Last Friday was World Teacher's Day and we celebrated our wonderful teachers who go above and beyond every day with care, compassion and expertise. Our staff loved a special morning tea prepared by Meg and Sarah. At Assembly our students presented teachers with Values Certificates and presents to thank them for all they do. Prep - 2 teachers got small succulent plants with the tag 'thanks for helping us grow!'. Grade 3-6 teachers got homemade cookies with the tag 'thanks for helping me become a smart cookie!'. Specialists teachers got M&Ms with each colour representing the magic of all they provide - kindness, patience, calm. We are grateful for every staff member every day.

Yesterday our Grade 4 campers headed to Lady Northcote Adventure Camp.  The rain just adds to the fun of it all!  The sun shone through in the afternoon with the students enjoying activities, such as the flying fox, canoeing and a talent show. Thanks to the staff and parent helpers for supporting this great experience.
