Volleyball Victoria Schools Cup Success
Eltham High School students delivered an outstanding performance at the Volleyball Victoria Schools Cup Intermediate in May, competing against many of the strongest school volleyball programs from across the state.
Throughout the tournament, our students demonstrated excellent skill, teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. Competing in the highly competitive Honours Division, several teams achieved impressive results against quality opposition.
Our Honours teams finished with the following placings:
Year 9 Girls Honours – 6th Place
Year 9 Boys Honours – 4th Place
Year 10 Girls Honours – Bronze Medal
Year 10 Boys Honours – Silver Medal
The highlight of the event was the success of our Year 10 Girls and Year 10 Boys teams, who both reached the medal rounds and showcased the high standard of volleyball that Eltham High School is known for. The Year 9 Boys also narrowly missed a medal, finishing in an impressive fourth position. A big congratulations to Jack Beddoe for being awarded the Most Valuable Player Award of the tournament.
As a result of their strong performances, the Year 9 Boys Honours, Year 10 Girls Honours, and Year 10 Boys Honours teams have all qualified for the Australian Volleyball Schools Cup, Australia's premier school volleyball tournament, to be held on the Gold Coast later this year.
Congratulations to all players, coaches, and families involved. We look forward to following these teams as they continue their volleyball journey and represent Eltham High School on the national stage.
