From the Principal

Dear Families,

What a busy and exciting fortnight it has been! I can hardly believe we are already commencing Week 8!

Our Book Week celebrations, this year's theme Symphony of Stories, were a wonderful success, with the joy of reading and storytelling embraced across the school. A huge thank you to Lan Timewell, our staff and our families for bringing Monday to life through fabulous costumes, author visits and, of course, our much-loved Book Week Parade. It was fantastic to see our students and staff so enthusiastically embrace the occasion.

A special thank you to Mrs Miller, who has organised a beautiful new set of flags for our school. They are a wonderful addition to our grounds and add even more colour and pride to our school environment.

Our production, The Great Australian Road Trip, was a tremendous success! A huge shout-out to Ms Seaton for her outstanding organisation, leadership and commitment. A production of this calibre is a significant undertaking and reflects enormous hard work, resilience, collaboration and attention to detail.

Rachael was supported by our Art Teacher, Nicole Hudson and our fabulous office staff, who worked behind the scenes on pricing, ticketing and the many logistical details that helped make the event such a success. A very special thank you also goes to STOMP Dance Company for bringing such energy and enthusiasm to the production, working with our students and teaching them the dance routines.

Finally, thank you to our classroom teachers for their incredible work preparing students, supporting rehearsals and ensuring our costumes were on point! The pride, confidence and enthusiasm demonstrated by our students throughout the production was wonderful to see.

It was a fantastic celebration of our students and the incredible teamwork of our Carnegie Primary School community. Well done to everyone involved!

SCHOOL COMMUNICATION 

Clear, direct communication is vital to our school partnership. In line with Department of Education guidelines and Ombudsman advice, we ask families to use their own words and avoid using public artificial intelligence (AI) tools when emailing the school.

Please keep these key communication points in mind:

• Be Authentic: Your own words help our staff understand your specific perspective and resolve your questions or concerns much faster.
• Stay Accurate: AI-generated text often adds confusing jargon or incorrect facts, which can delay our response times.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

Uniform matters. There's a real pride in walking through the school gates looking neat and respectable and pride in being a Carnegie Primary School student. Our uniform builds a sense of the team - we are all part of the CPS community, and dressing as one, is a small reminder of that. There's also a practical, safety-driven reason: when our students are out in the community - on excursions, on public transport, anywhere they represent us beyond the school gate - a consistent uniform means a CPS student can be quickly identified.

DOGS IN SCHOOL GRONDS

A reminder to families: In line with Department of Education policy, dogs are not permitted on school grounds, including at drop-off and pick-up times. We appreciate your support in keeping our school environment safe and welcoming for all students, staff and families. Thank you for your cooperation.
