International Student Program Update

Year 9 Career Explore – Construction Essentials

On Friday 11 September, our Year 9 international students attended the Career Explore event with local students at Holmesglen Chadstone Campus. The activity focused on Construction Essentials, giving students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn more about different career pathways.

Students worked in groups and completed a range of challenges. They used glue to lay tiles, created tile puzzles, made their own mobile phone holders, and worked together to build the longest line of bricks while keeping them organised and neatly placed.

Through these activities, students developed a better understanding of the importance of organisation, quality and teamwork in the construction industry. They also enjoyed working together, solving problems and completing the challenges.

It was a great opportunity for our students to learn through hands-on activities and explore possible future career pathways. Thank you to our College Career Team for organising this valuable learning experience.

Mordi Idol

On 10 September, our international students Mona, Kaylee and Wilson took part in Mordi Idol, a whole-school performance event.

Wilson performed a solo, “Chinese Can Fly”, sharing a positive message about being proud of your culture and identity, and having the confidence to be yourself and shine.

Mona and Kaylee performed a duet, “We Don’t Talk Anymore”. Their fluent English and impressive high notes made their performance a highlight of the event.

We are very proud of all three students for having the courage to get on stage and take part. This was the first time our international students have participated in Mordi Idol, and it was wonderful to see them share their talents with the wider College community.

We hope to see more international students taking part in future school events and sharing their talents and cultures.

Badminton Tournament

Congratulations to our international students Dat Nguyen and Leo Li on their excellent results in the first tournament organised by the Badminton Club. Dat finished second and Leo finished third. Well done!

We would also like to thank Dily Leang, one of our international students, for his contribution as a club admin and for supporting the Badminton Club.

A special thank you to Mr Kevin Yu for starting the Badminton Club, organising its first tournament and preparing the prizes.

It is great to see our international students getting involved in school activities and making a positive contribution to our college community.

Are You Okay? Day

On Are You Okay? Day, we would like to recognise our international students Evelyn (Year 12), Dily (Year 11) and Ivy (Year 11) for their contribution to the school community.

As members of the College leadership team, they helped sell donuts, soft drinks and chips to support the event and create a positive atmosphere across the College.

As VCE students, they have busy academic schedules, but they still make time to participate in school activities and support the wider College community.

We are very proud of their commitment and positive attitude. They are wonderful role models for our younger international students, showing that being part of the College community is not only about learning, but also about getting involved, helping others and making a difference.

Term 3 Holiday Message

Thank you to all our international students for your hard work and positive participation throughout Term 3. We hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing Term 3 break!

Enjoy the holidays, take some time to rest and have fun, and we look forward to seeing everyone again in Term 4!
