Dear Parents and Friends,
It’s hard to believe we have almost reached the end of Term 3! When the AFL finals begin, we know the term is drawing to a close - good luck to all the teams still in the race.
This has been a busy and productive term at St Carlo’s. Our students have worked so hard, growing in skills, strategies, and knowledge. Thank you to all students for your enthusiasm, energy, and growth mindset - we are so proud of you!
Whole School Production – Thank You!
What an incredible couple of nights we enjoyed last week with our whole-school production, Journey Together – The Greatest Adventure!
A huge congratulations to all our students, who performed with such confidence, enthusiasm and joy. We were incredibly proud of every one of them!
Thank you to our wonderful staff for the many hours of rehearsals, preparation and support, and a very special thank you to Mrs Milan and Mrs Barca for the enormous amount of work, creativity and dedication they put into bringing the production to life.
Finally, thank you to our families for your fantastic support and for being such an enthusiastic audience. It was a wonderful celebration of our students and another very special St Carlo’s memory that we will treasure for years to come.
St Carlo’s is a very special learning community, and this term has been filled with many highlights including:
Learning has also been enriched through excursions and incursions such as:

We are so grateful to our parents for the many ways you support our school from volunteering in classrooms and the art room, to helping at stalls, special food days, excursions, and sporting events. Your contribution ensures our students experience so many rich opportunities.
On behalf of all families, we sincerely thank our hardworking and dedicated staff. Their generosity, commitment, and care make St Carlo’s the vibrant and nurturing place that it is. We hope they enjoy a very well-deserved break.
Father's Day Breakfast and Stall
Our Father’s Day Breakfast was a huge success! It was wonderful to see so many dads and granddads joining us, and the excitement of the children having their dads at school was fantastic. A huge thank you to all staff for setting up and serving on the day – your generosity and time made this special tradition possible.
Thank you also to Vicky and our amazing mums who ran the Father’s Day Stall. The stall was another wonderful success and greatly appreciated by the children.
Happy LSO Day!
Last week we took the opportunity to recognise and celebrate our wonderful Learning Support Officers and the incredibly important role they play at St Carlo’s. Our LSOs bring patience, compassion, flexibility and encouragement to their work each day. They see the strengths in every student, provide support when it is needed and help our children feel confident, included and ready to learn.
Their contribution extends well beyond the individual students they support. Through their teamwork, care and willingness to help wherever needed, they enrich our classrooms and make an enormous contribution to our whole school community.

To all of our amazing LSOs, thank you for everything you do for our students, teachers and families. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a caring and dedicated team at St Carlo’s, and we hope you know just how much you are valued and appreciated.
Happy LSO Day, and a very big thank you from all of us at St Carlo’s!
MACSSIS - Family School Improvement Survey

All families have been invited to participate in the annual Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Survey (MACSSIS). Families have received an email with details on how to complete the survey.
We truly value your time and feedback, and we hope as many families as possible can support this important process. The survey will remain open until Friday, 19th September. Thank you in advance for your contribution.
Parish School Advisory Council
Last Monday the School Advisory Councils from the three parish school met for our termly meeting. The members from St Carlo's are: Cathrine La Terra, Manny Bugeja and Katrina Ferguson and Nella Fimiani.
The purpose of this meeting was to clarify the advisory role of the School Advisory Council, including its responsibility to support the Catholic mission, strategic direction, community engagement and school improvement. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of the Child Safety Standards. We also discussed some of the current financial challenges that MACS are experiencing the impact on our school staffing and budget.
Footy Colours Day – Thank You!
A huge thank you to all our staff for helping make Footy Colours Day such a fun and enjoyable day for our students. It was wonderful to see the school filled with colour, plenty of team rivalry and lots of excitement!
A very special thank you to Vicky and our wonderful P&F for once again going above and beyond. Thank you for organising the delicious morning tea special Footy Day lunch for our students. We are incredibly grateful for the time, effort and generosity that goes into making these special days possible. Thank you for everything you do to make St Carlo’s such a wonderful community!
Summer Uniform
As we approach Term 4, please check that your child’s summer uniform still fits – our children have grown so much in recent months! For the first few weeks, parents may decide whether their child wears summer or winter uniform, depending on the weather. Once conditions are consistently warm, all students will be required to wear the full summer uniform (date to be confirmed).
Remember: No Hat, No Play. From the first day of Term 4, all students must have the correct school hat for outdoor activities.
Community Health Reminder
There is quite a lot of sickness in our school and wider community at the moment, with a number of students and staff currently unwell.
Thank you to our families for your support in keeping children at home when they are unwell. Allowing children time to rest and recover not only helps them get better but also helps reduce the spread of illness to other students and staff. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep our St Carlo’s community as healthy as possible.
Planning 2027
Planning for next year continues to progress and we ask any families who will not be returning to school in 2027 to please contact the school to let us know. We can then cater for any families who are currently on waiting lists to have the opportunity to enrol in the school.
School will finish at 1:00 p.m. this Friday. As this is the final newsletter for Term 3, we wish all families a safe and happy holiday. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for an exciting Term 4 beginning on Monday, October 5.
I will be taking leave for the first two weeks of Term 4. Mrs Nella Fimiani will be principal during my leave.
Thank you once again for making Term 3 such a wonderful success! May St Carlo continue to bless our wonderful community, please take care and enjoy the term holidays. Let's hope we have plenty of warm sunny days!
Kevin Gleeson.
