Year 7 Camp - Warrnambool
Year 7 Camp
57 excited (and nervous) Year 7 students from 13 different feeder primary schools got on the bus to Warrnambool for Year 7 Camp.
Students could not have been better cared for at the Warra Gnan Coastal Camp – great activities, supportive staff and food (and lots of it).
Year 11’s joined the Year 7’s in the first day of activities. The Year 11’s led a range of activities at Lake Pertobe before supporting Year 7 students in an Amazing race and walk to Shelley Beach. Everyone returned to camp a little wet but will smiles on their face ready to share a BBQ dinner together.
Surfing, beach games and Nippers games was the morning activities – all students catching waves and many students standing up and riding waves to the beach. Students then rotated through Bike Riding, Kayaking and Fishing. The rail trail saw a several excellent riders complete 4 laps, while other made it a leisurely ride. Most students ended up wet (may have been the teachers!!!) and a couple overboard on a sharp turn under the bridge. While nothing live was caught – several twigs made their way onto hooks it was a new experience for most students who learnt how to bait a hook, cast a line and reel in.
As we said goodbye to camp to enjoy our last few hours having lunch and playing at Lake Pertobe students returned to school as members of the Baimbridge College Community.

Year 12 BioLab Excursion
The Year 12 Psychology class took a trip to BioLabs, Geelong to learn about stress response and techniques to manage stress. They wore heart monitors and tracked their heart rates while completing mental challenges. The challenges included a test to trick. It would flash an image and you had to choose the matching image. Another was a reaction test, like AFL players use. Students would visualise themselves successfully completing the test and all saw improvements in their scores.
It was a fun day and everyone liked the Maccas trip on the way
