Term Two Wellbeing

The end of term break came just at the right time for many and hopefully it offered the chance for students and families to catch their breath, have a break and enjoy some glorious fresh air!

Now we have returned to school, and for some, this may be a welcome relief from tricky family logistical juggles! For our students, returning to school may feel exciting – being able to catch up with friends, getting stuck back in to learning, sports and activities. For others, however, we know it can be a challenging time as we adjust back into the routine.

Our wellbeing team are here if any of our students need someone to reach out to. At home, we can work together to support positive mental health by encouraging our young people to:

• Exercise and eat healthily to boost their mood

• Prioritise sleep to support mental and emotional wellbeing

• Explore relaxation techniques and coping strategies

• Make time to do things they enjoy

 • Practice positive self-talk, and remind them they are not alone

There is a whole host of wellbeing resources out there, including a handy conversation starter from the Department of Education - Wellbeing Activities at Home. For a full range of info, you can also check out page 2 of this handy Wellbeing Supports Factsheet

We are looking forward to a terrific term two!
