Dear Parents and Carers

Stronger Together

With Term 2 approaching, we look ahead with anticipation to the many opportunities for our students to let their light shine and for our community to come together. Our calendar includes key occasions such as our ANZAC Day Assembly, Mother’s Day Breakfast, Opus 1 and 2 Concerts, the P&F Junior School Disco, the Care@Clayfield Parent Event with Dr Justin Coulson, the Luminous Lunch, Experience Day for our Year 7 2027 cohort and Giving Day, with the term culminating in our much‑loved Arts Day. Further information can be found in the Upcoming Events section of this edition, and I look forward to engaging with you across the term ahead.

This weekend, we have a group of Year 10 students embarking on an exchange to Saint Kentigern College, a co-educational school in New Zealand that offers parallel education, and we wish them every success as they embrace this valuable experience. A further exchange opportunity will be available to our Year 8 students in Term 3, when they travel to Kilvington Grammar School, a co-educational school in Melbourne that adopts the parallel learning model.

This term, Clayfield on Tour will continue, with visits to our rural and international boarding families and opportunities to meet prospective families in Goondiwindi, Japan and Seoul. We will also attend the ICPA State Conference in Atherton. It is always a privilege to spend time together in the places our families call home. It is with this same sense of community that we wish our boarders all the very best as they travel back to their home away from home for the start of term.

Term 2 invites us to continue our shared focus on growing stronger and wiser in all that we do.

Shaping Lighthouse

Throughout 2026, Clayfield College will take an important step forward with the introduction of Lighthouse, our first integrated Learning Management System and communication platform. Lighthouse is designed to support learning and improve how we share information with families, bringing learning and communication into one place.

Lighthouse is being introduced in deliberate phases across Terms 2, 3 and 4 to allow time for thoughtful engagement with parents, students and staff, and to ensure the experience is well supported and responsive.

In Term 2, students and staff will continue piloting the learning component of the platform. Parents will be invited to provide feedback through forums and consultation, helping shape how Lighthouse is introduced and how information is shared in ways that best engage families in their child’s educational journey. These forums will also provide an opportunity for parents to learn more about Lighthouse and what it will offer.

This work is supported by our participation in Mastering Parent Engagement, a 12‑month, research‑informed program delivered in partnership with Independent Schools Queensland. It reflects our ongoing commitment to working closely with families and aligns with our Strategic Pillar of Wellbeing Through Belonging, where every student is known, valued and understood.

We warmly invite all parents and carers from both the Junior and Senior Schools to join us in these conversations during Term 2. Your feedback will play an important role in the ongoing development of Lighthouse and how it supports your family at Clayfield College.

The launch of Lighthouse will be a landmark project for the College and a cornerstone of our Strategic Pillar: Wellbeing Through Belonging, providing a clear demonstration of how Clayfield knows, values and understands every student.

We look forward to walking alongside you as we learn, connect and grow together as a Clayfield community.

Warm regards
