Learning and Teaching News

Mr Adam Knight and Mrs Leigh Jackson

Welcome back to all our families. We hope the Easter season provided an opportunity to be present, relax and gear-up for a big Term 2.

Year 10 Subject Changes

Over the break, students in Year 10 may have decided to change elective subjects. If your son would like to change his subjects, please encourage him to visit the Academic Care Office (located under the Senior Library).

All subject changes need to be completed and submitted by Wednesday 29 April (Week 2). Any changes after this date will be considered in Term 3. Please also note that Construction Gateways and Engineering Gateways can only be changed into at the start of Term 3.

Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews

We believe that education is a collaborative effort, and we are grateful of the unwavering support of our parents and the wider community.  It was wonderful to see so many of our families gather yesterday and collaborate with teachers on your son’s success and limitations across Term 1.  PTS interviews are an important part of your son’s educational journey.  One that allows for a time to reflect on his strengths but also discuss opportunities for areas of growth and improvement.  Please continue to reach out to your son’s teacher throughout the term to ensure he is committed to his goals across Term 2.

Next Wednesday (29th of April) week we have PTS interviews online. Please ensure you know what time you are scheduled for your interviews and follow the steps here.

Access to the Parent/Teacher/Student Interview schedule is via the Parent Portal on the College Website (www.marash.qld.edu.au).

Confirmation of the interview schedules and the Teams links for interviews will be emailed to Parents and Carers by Wednesday 22 April 2026. If you have booked online interviews and have not received this email, please check your junk and spam folders. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Sharon Vassallo via email (curriculum@marash.qld.edu.au).

We believe that education is a shared partnership, and we sincerely thank our parents and wider community for their ongoing support. It was wonderful to see so many families attend yesterday’s interviews and work alongside teachers to reflect on your son’s achievements and challenges throughout Term 1. Parent–teacher–student interviews are a valued part of your son’s learning journey, providing an opportunity to celebrate his strengths while also identifying areas for growth and improvement. We encourage you to continue connecting with your son’s teacher during the term to ensure he is working towards his goals.

Year 11 Exam Block

The Year 11 Exam block schedule will be released in the coming weeks for Tuesday of Week 5 to Friday of Week 5.
