Guess Who? School Photo Day Countdown Fun!

As we count down to school photos next week, our students have been having a lot of fun with our Guess Who? challenge!

We’ve displayed photos of our staff from when they were in primary school in the court yard, and students have been busy trying to match each childhood photo to the correct staff member. It’s been fantastic to see the excitement, conversations and curiosity this has sparked across the school, students have really embraced it!

If you’d like to join in the fun at home, we’ve included a guessing sheet with all the images in this newsletter. See how many you can get correct as a family!

ANZAC DAY APPEAL - Items for sale

In the lead up to ANZAC Day, we will be selling appeal badges and other items at school on behalf of the Buninyong RSL. These range in price at  $2, $3, $4 & $5 - see picture.

There is also a donation box for anyone wishing to make a contribution. All of these funds will be forwarded to the Buninyong RSL. 

Items are available at the office and the fundraising team will be selling them to students when they go around to classrooms.

Tuning in to Kids @ Buninyong Primary

If you have been doing some research on parenting strategies as you are struggling to understand your child's emotional needs, but you are not sure where to start...this could be for you.  In partnership with Buninyong Primary School, Cafs Early Help is offering a FREE 6-week parenting program

designed to help you navigate the ups and downs of raising children.

What is Tuning in to Kids (TIK)?

This evidence-based program supports parents and carers in becoming "Emotion Coaches" for their children. Over six weeks, you will explore key themes including:

• Relationship building
• Understanding emotional needs
• Effective communication
• Emotion coaching techniques

Program Details

When: Starts Thursday, 7th May 2026 (Week 3)

Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Where: 202 Simpson St, Buninyong VIC

Cost: FREE

Spaces are limited to 12 participants to ensure a supportive group environment. Be sure to register early so you don't miss out! Bunjil Student Awards

Congratulations to the following students who received a Bunjil Award at last term’s final whole school assembly.

Bunjil awards recognise student achievement and those who display our school values of being respectful, responsible and kind. Well done! All of our weekly winners enjoyed a hot chocolate or zooper dooper with a principal. This process is always a great chance for us to hear from the kids and ask them some questions about our school.
