We have ended the year with some fun science experiments. 

If you would like to try them at home, here are the ingredients and methods. 

Lava Lamps 

Ingredients:

oil 

water

food colouring 

Alka-seltzer tablet 

clear flask (drink bottle, jar, glass etc.) 

Method: 

1. Fill the flask most of the way with your choice of oil.
2. Fill the rest of the flask with water. 
3. Add a few drops of food coloring. 
4. Break an Alka-seltzer tablet into a few small pieces and drop them in the flask one at a time.
5. Watch your lava lamp erupt into activity!

Oobleck 

Ingredients:

1.5 cups cornflour 

1 cup water 

spoon

bowl 

Method:

Add cornflour and water to the bowl and stir until combined. NB. it will become difficult to stir!
