From Your P&F

Hi parents and carers, the General Meeting of the P&F is next Monday! This year’s committee is very much looking forward to a big turnout and generating plenty of buzz about upcoming events such as the Walkathon which is fast approaching. Please see below notice of meeting and we look forward to seeing you on Monday.

NOTICE OF GENERAL MEETING of the Marist College Ashgrove Parents and Friends Association
MONDAY 20 July 2026 at 6:00pm
Location: The Tower Building
Booking Link: https://www.trybooking.com/DNYND
If you wish to make a request for an agenda item it’s not to late, they can be sent to our P&F Secretary at SecretaryPandF@marash.qld.edu.au. We ask if these can be submitted as soon as possible to allow for adequate preparation and by Friday 17 July 2026 at the very latest.
We appreciate that Monday evenings are often busy for families, and finding time for additional commitments can be challenging. However, the strength of our P&F depends on parents and carers becoming involved, sharing ideas and helping us shape the activities and initiatives that benefit our boys and the broader College community.
That starts with Monday’s General Meeting. We are hoping for our strongest attendance yet and encourage as many parents and carers as possible to join us. A healthy, active P&F relies on participation from the wider parent community, and Monday’s meeting is an important opportunity to demonstrate that support.
In recent meetings, attendance has been lower than we would like. While a dedicated group continues to drive our fundraising and community-building efforts, the long-term success of the P&F depends on broader participation from our parent community. Whether you are able to volunteer regularly, assist with a specific event, or simply attend meetings and share your perspective, your involvement makes a genuine difference.
The upcoming Walkathon is a great example of an event that benefits from strong parent support, and we would love to hear your ideas and encourage your participation. By attending the General Meeting, you will have the opportunity to connect with other families, stay informed about College activities, and help ensure the P&F remains a vibrant and effective part of the Marist community.
Marist Family Support
🔸🔹CALL FOR DONATIONS🔹🔸
Hi Wonderful Marist Family,
Marist Family Support was set up to provide assistance to families and students in our school community who are doing it tough or facing extraordinary challenges. Run by parents, it is a way for us to connect, support and make a change for those around us … in the Marist tradition of Presence, Family Spirit and In The Way of Mary. Support can take many forms and over the years we have organised meal trains, gift cards, household maintenance, flood relief and monitor card top ups.
Our last call out for monetary donations was 18 months ago. In that time, we have made those funds stretch but we are now again putting a call out for our community to generously donate to Marist Family Support.
Your donations make a big difference to our families, particularly helping students to have the same experience at Marist as their peers and not feel different or excluded due to their circumstances. And, for example, an allocation of these funds to a student’s Tuckshop card can help ease the burden of the morning rush in a household that is struggling and give a family some much needed breathing space.
To ensure probity, the funds are donated via a Monitor - it is a permanent listing in the Monitor system (via the Parent Portal) in both the student and supporter shops under "fundraising".... parents can simply go to the tuckshop monitor link as usual and find it in the online purchases … or you can click on the link on the Facebook post. All money donated is used to help families in our community.
A very big Thank You to everyone that has supported us in the past … and we thank you in advance for your future donations.
Jane, Cassandra and Angela
(Marist Family Support)
