Principals Report

Dear Parents, Families and Friends,
Thank you for a wonderful semester of learning and community. We are grateful for the support families continue to show at assemblies, sporting days, celebrations and school events. As we move through this significant year for St Mary’s, we remain focused on making the most of our time together and celebrating the learning, relationships and special moments that make our school community so valued. Our staff remain committed to supporting every child’s learning, growth and wellbeing, and it has been pleasing to see students setting goals, trying their best and supporting one another throughout the semester.
Academic reports and student learning journals were sent home on Tuesday. These provide a snapshot of your child’s progress, including assessments, work samples and teacher reflections. I encourage you to take the time to read through these documents with your child. Celebrate their achievements, reflect on their goals, and talk together about what lies ahead in Semester 2.
We wish Ruby McLean all the very best as she completes her final placement in Broome during Term 3. Ruby will be on leave for the first seven weeks of the term as she reaches this significant milestone in her studies. We are very proud of Ruby and wish her every success during this exciting opportunity. The school will provide replacement support during Ruby’s leave to ensure students continue to be well supported.
This week, we will also enjoy our end-of-semester celebration and awards assembly. These are wonderful occasions to acknowledge the efforts, achievements and growth of our students, and to come together as a school community before the holiday break. To all our families, we wish you a restful and enjoyable break. We hope students take this time to recharge and enjoy their well-deserved holidays. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for a productive and positive second semester.
Finally, if anything changes regarding your child’s enrolment plans between now and the end of 2026, please let the school know. This will help us ensure we can properly acknowledge and celebrate your child’s achievements and contributions to St Mary’s.
Kind Regards,
