Wellbeing at the End of Term

As we head towards the end of Term 3, we know that this can be a particularly busy and tiring time for children and families. With swimming programs, classroom learning and all of the excitement that comes with the final weeks of term, it is completely normal for children to feel tired and for their emotional reserves to be a little lower than usual.

Our wellbeing focus is always about supporting children to recognise what their bodies and minds need. We understand that our Prep–Year 2 swimming program can be tiring for our younger students, particularly when combined with their usual school day. Swimming is a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, independence and important water safety skills, but it can also be physically demanding. If your child is showing clear signs of fatigue following swimming, please know that taking a day to rest and recharge is okay. We encourage families to watch for signs that their child may need some extra rest and to have conversations with them about how they are feeling.

During the swimming program, ensuring children have plenty of sleep, a good breakfast, water and time to rest after their sessions will also help them manage the additional physical demands. We appreciate families working with us to support our youngest students to enjoy the program while also listening to what their bodies need.

At BBPS, wellbeing is about helping children develop the skills to recognise their own needs and make positive choices to look after themselves. As we approach the end of term, let's remember that rest is productive too. Sometimes the best wellbeing strategy is simply to slow down, take a breath and recharge.

Reminder: Parent / Carer Opinion Survey

Dear Parents / Carers,

 Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Carer Opinion Survey and is seeking your feedback. The survey, offered by the Department of Education, is designed

to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. 

Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. The department will use the results from the survey for research purposes and to improve outcomes for students. 

The survey will be conducted online and only takes 20 minutes to complete. It can be completed on any internet enabled device (desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone) and is compatible with most browsers. The survey is available in English and 10 other languages: Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. If you require assistance in another language, resources may be available for you. Please reach out to the school if you require assistance in another language.

The Parent / Carer Opinion Survey is open online until Friday 18 September 2026.

To complete the survey, simply:

1.      Click on the link previously sent to you via compass. 

2.      Select the School and Campus name below.

3.      When complete, please click on the ‘Submit’ button at the end of the survey to submit your answers. Please note that the survey will time out after 60 minutes of inactivity.

PLEASE NOTE: Only one parent / carer from your household is invited to complete the survey on behalf of the student’s family. Please reach out to your child’s teacher, or the school if your child’s family lives in two separate households, so both households can have the opportunity to provide their feedback.

To protect your responses, please DO NOT share the survey link and PIN with others, or on a public website, forum or similar. Please be assured that your responses are completely confidential
