Season of Creation

“God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good.” Gen 1: 31

From 1 September to 4 October, the Catholic Church around the world celebrates the Season of Creation. This is a special time when we are invited to reflect on the wonderful gift of creation, give thanks for our common home, and take action to care for the earth.

The theme for this year is “Peace with Creation.” It reminds us that true peace is not only found in our relationships with each other, but also in the way we live with the world around us. When we respect and protect creation, we live in harmony with God’s plan. When the earth is damaged, both people and nature suffer.

As a school, we will learn more about how we can be good stewards of the earth, and take practical steps, like reducing waste, caring for plants and animals, and appreciating the beauty of the natural world.

We encourage families to join us at home by spending time outdoors, noticing the peace that comes from nature, and making small changes that care for the environment.

Let us pray together that we may live in peace with creation, recognising that we are all connected as part of God’s family.

Let us Pray...

Loving God,

Thank you for the gift of the world,

the trees, the rivers, the animals, and all people.

We are sorry for the times we have hurt your creation.

Help us to live in peace with the earth,

with each other, and with you.

Teach us to care for our common home,

to share what we have,

and to bring hope where there is sadness.

May we always work together

to bring peace to your world.

Amen.
