Principal's Update

Dear Families,

It has been another super exciting time at St Margaret’s, filled with adventures, special events and, most importantly, wonderful learning experiences for our children.

Book Week: What a fantastic week it was! Our students and staff celebrated all that books bring to our lives and community. The highlight was seeing our school library transformed into a magical Book Week themed space. A huge thank you to Ms Vicky in the library for her creativity and dedication in bringing this space to life. It was also great to see so many families at our annual Book Week parade. Thank you to everyone who supported the day, both through the incredible costumes and by being there to cheer on our students.

Building Project Update: The past fortnight has been a big one for our building project. Students and staff have navigated through the demolition and removal of our old portable classrooms with great resilience. It was incredible to see how quickly the crew dismantled the buildings, and our students showed patience and good spirits even with the noise and disruption. Builders are now preparing the foundations, with the ground cut and ready. The open space looks huge, and it is very exciting to imagine the new classrooms taking shape in the months ahead.

Year 5 Camp: Congratulations to our Year 5 campers who enjoyed an amazing few days at Camp Campaspe in Kyneton last week. I was fortunate to join them for a day and loved seeing the students throw themselves into a range of adventure activities with courage and enthusiasm. A big thank you to our Year 5 teachers; Ms McKibbin, Ms Blake and Ms Macpherson – along with Mr Hogan, Ms Grech and Ms Lily for making the camp such a success. A safe, fun and memorable experience was had by all (and hopefully a bit of sleep caught up on afterwards!).

Learning Around the School: One of the highlights of my role is having students visit me to share their learning achievements, and I have been lucky to have many proud learners knocking on my door these past few weeks. It is wonderful to see their growth, confidence and joy in learning. I also had the delight of visiting 3C recently where I was introduced to their very friendly class pet, a fascinating stick insect that had clearly captured the curiosity of the whole class!

Thank you once again for your continued support of all that we do at St Margaret’s. It is a joy to see our children and school community thriving. Wishing everyone a joyful and inspiring fortnight ahead.

God bless,

John
