ITALIAN
Our Foundation and Grade 1 students explored le emozioni (emotions) in Italian. They have been learnt how to identify and express feelings such as felice (happy), triste (sad), arrabbiato (angry), and sorpreso (surprised).
As we move into the festive season, students will also be participating in a range of fun Christmas-themed Italian activities. These will include learning Christmas vocabulary, creating simple crafts, singing Italian Christmas songs, and exploring how Christmas is celebrated in Italy. We look forward to sharing their joyful work as we celebrate Natale (Christmas) together!
SPORT
This week's glorious sunshine has brought about our soccer unit. The students were happy to spend time on the oval honing their kicking skills and learned the importance of kicking from the side of the foot. The junior classes had a fun 'kick out' session, while the senior classes extended on their skills by playing competitive games.
The past fortnight has also led to much class discussion on the value of starting good physical activity habits from a young age. We've discussed "use it or lose it", meaning, it is so much harder to become physically active if you wait until later in life. Everyone was able to easily think of their favourite physical activity that they choose for enjoyment, which is a good indicator for future good health!
ART
The last few weeks in Art we have been completing some print making projects such as creating printing banners and handbags using our own stamps we made. This week some of the senior classes made some reverse print making artworks of their favourite numbers and made a stencil to create negative space. They turned out fantastic!
