Community Update

The Power of Volunteering

Volunteering is a beautiful gift that enriches both our school and the wider community in countless ways. It weaves a sense of connection, belonging, and shared purpose among families, staff, and students, creating a community where everyone feels valued and supported.

This week, I have had the privilege of witnessing the power of volunteering in many forms. Last Saturday, we welcomed 160 Old Scholars back to the College for the 2025 Milestone Reunions. This special occasion was led by a dedicated team of volunteers from the LOSA Committee. They gave their time and energy to run tours, serve food and drinks, and spend hours setting up and packing down the event. Their efforts embodied the spirit of love, connection, and pride our Old Scholars hold for this community. Several of our teaching staff also joined in to lead tours, offering Old Scholars the chance to see how the College has evolved while sharing in memories of their own time here.

The LOSA Committee were back again on Sunday to host a beautiful High Tea at the Sofitel to farewell the Class of 2025. It's been wonderful to see these special occasions come to life and see the strength of the community shining through across both events.

Tonight (Friday 24 October), we are excited to be hosting 69 families in the school gym for the Year 12 Graduation. The gym is almost unrecognisable after the Year 11 parents worked their magic over the last 24 hours, transforming it into a beautiful event space. In just a few hours yesterday, the gym transformed from a place filled with over 1,000 chairs and staging into an elegant dining area. This was thanks to the tireless efforts of our maintenance and IT teams, Year 11 parents, teachers, students, and even a parent who happened to be passing by during school pickup! From carrying chairs across Talbot Grove, hanging curtains high on ladders and transporting chandelier centrepieces across campus, the Year 12 Graduation truly reflects what can be achieved when our community comes together. It is, in every sense, a team effort and a powerful reminder of the impact of volunteering and community spirit! We look forward to celebrating all our wonderful volunteers on Monday 17th November.

Fathers and Friends Lunch

This is a reminder that this is your last chance to secure your tickets for the Fathers and Friends Lunch on Sunday 2nd November. Loreto College will be hosting the annual Fathers and Friends Lunch at Ayers House and would love to see as many Dads and Friends of Loreto join us for this special event. Bookings close this Sunday night. Please book here to reserve your place.

Autumn Fair Planning Meeting

On Monday, 1 December at 6.00pm, we’ll be holding a special Autumn Fair 2026 Planning Meeting, led by the P&F Committee. The meeting will take place in the Acacias Boardroom, and we warmly welcome all P&F members, class representatives, and parents to come along and be part of this exciting event. Next year’s Autumn Fair will be held on Sunday, 29 March 2026. This much-loved biannual event brings our whole school community together for a fun-filled family day, with each year level running its own stall, proudly organised by families from that cohort. It’s always a vibrant, community-spirited day that everyone enjoys being part of!

We hope to see you at the planning meeting as we start preparing for another exciting Autumn Fair in 2026.

Keeping Talbot Grove Safe for Everyone

We ask all parents to please support safety on Talbot Grove. Vehicles must not stop to drop children off, as this creates dangerous bottlenecks. Please take extra care when crossing the road and ensure all traffic rules are followed at all times. Your cooperation helps keep our students and community safe.
