A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Brain Olympia

We had our school Brain Olympia Competition last Thursday in the parish hall. All the students participated enthusiastically throughout the day working together as a team to answer general knowledge questions, solve tricky Mathematics problems, write a speech and present a short play.

Congratulations to the students who represented their team in the Speech Section: Rosie Lee, Joel Morris, Dani Cortis, Billie Peach & Olive Dillon. The topic was ‘Australia is the best place to live’. All of these students gave very clear arguments as to why we are fortunate to live in such a wonderful country.

The scores were close all day with the lead continually changing! The winning team only won by 1 point!

The overall winning team was ‘The Deadly 6’ consisting of Zeb Allan, Mason Newlands, Phoebe Farrant-Wills, Lily Brown, Kendall O’Rance & Billie Peach.

Kindness Corner

Congratulations to Tayla Jamieson for putting yourself forward to help your classmates and the younger students in our school. You are a star!

Sporting Success

Congratulations to Ricky Hird for being selected to represent Polding at the PSSA State Carnival next week. Ricky was placed second in High Jump at the Polding Carnival last week with a jump of 1.36 m. A great result and we wish Ricky every success.

Confirmation Sunday 22nd October

Please keep our students who make their Confirmation this Sunday in your prayers: Rosie Lee, Ricky Hird, Olive Dillon, Jorja Jamieson, Phoebe Farrant -Wills, Dani Cortis, Alex Davis & Lily Brown.

Colour Run Sunday 29th October

I encourage all our families to support the Colour Run which is being held at Longfield Park on Sunday 29th October from 10.30am. There are many attractions on offer: a foam cannon, slime stations, yabbie races and a BBQ for lunch.  Thank you to Jenni Hird for all her work in organising this wonderful event.

Book Fair

Our annual Book Fair is scheduled for this Thursday 19th October from 5.00pm. Students are encouraged to dress up as a book character (students may wear the same outfit as they did for Book Week). A delicious BBQ will be on offer and this is a wonderful opportunity to buy books for Christmas presents! I look forward to catching up with you at this important event.
