Principal's Report

Student Achievement: Victorian School Sport (SS) Soccer
Congratulations to Joe Kemp (Year 12, Everard House) on his selection to represent Victoria in the national SS Soccer competition as part of the 18 years & under Victorian SS Soccer team.
Joe was selected as Captain of the team and travelled to Queensland last week to represent our state. The team performed exceptionally well sharing second place in the competition with Queensland. Furthermore, Joe was awarded the Victorian Player of the Season an accolade which resulted in a place in the All-Australia Team.
We wish Joe all the best as he continues to engage in the sport and represent Australia in future competitions.
Australian Schools Girls 7’s Rugby Union Championships
In an earlier edition of this Newsletter, I included in my report that Miley Navuni (Year 10, Skipper House) was selected to represent Victoria at the Australian Schools Girls U16 7’s Rugby Union Championships in QLD from 10 -13th July 2025.
Miley has returned victoriously from the championships, having been recognised with the
Sugerman - McLean award for Best team player throughout the tournament.
This is an accolade which Miley shares with our school as her certificate clearly shows her connection to and representation of Eltham High School.
Once again congratulations Miley on such an outstanding achievement.
State Cross Country Championships
I wish to congratulate all students who participated in the State Cross Country Championships last Thursday and represented our school admirably with outstanding participation and some amazing results. Please refer to the Sport section of this newsletter for a full report.
I do want to congratulate Ally Brooks (Year 12, Everard House). As a Year 12 student this year’s participation was Ally’s last in these championships, but what is remarkable is that Ally represented Eltham High School in the championships each year from Year 7 through to Year 12.
Ally has collected many medals throughout her journey but what is most important is her commitment and passion for the sport as well as her dedication to her school.
Well Done, Ally!
Year 10 Course Counselling Process
Across several days throughout this week Year 10 students have been engaged in the course counselling process for 2026. Each student had an appointment time to meet with a counsellor to discuss their course selection for the coming year and the start of VCE.
Staff have been trained and guided through the process to ensure that students are provided with the best information to arrive at an informed decision in relation to their 2026 course of study. This process does not stand alone and has followed the Information evening that ran a couple of weeks ago.
I thank all the staff who gave up their classes to engage in this very important process. I also thank all the staff that took extra classes covering for their colleagues who were involved in the counselling.
The process was led by our Senior School Team Leader Orianne Megaloudis and our Careers/Pathways Coordinator Felicia Pellegrino. I thank them both for providing this opportunity and experience for all our Year 10 students.
Year 12 Formal
The Year 12 Formal took place on Friday 25 July at Leonda by the Yarra.
It was an amazing night filled with excitement and glamour.
I want to congratulate all the students on the way that they approached the evening as a group. They were inclusive of each other, engaged in the festivities with utmost respect and regard for each other, and generally had a wonderful time.
I take this opportunity to thank all the staff who attended the evening. I know that all had a wonderful time and that they were very impressed with the way that the students engaged in the festivity.
A big thank you to the Senior School team under the leadership of Orianne Megaloudis. They worked very hard alongside the Formal Committee to ensure that the evening was well planned and that it ran smoothly.
I believe that a great time was had by all.
