Finding Jesus

"I've found Jesus!" has become a common phrase at Lakeside lately.

No, it’s not just an expression of faith – it’s part of our Finding Jesus challenge and chapel series this term.

Around the school, small figurines of Jesus have been hidden in classrooms, hallways and unexpected places. When students spot one, they look after it until chapel, when they get rewarded with a little prize. Each week, the figurines are hidden somewhere new, sparking curiosity, conversations and plenty of friendly competition.

In Chapel, we’ve been opening Mark’s Gospel to see how different people “found” Jesus – sometimes in dramatic, unexpected moments. From calming a furious storm, to healing the hurting, to calling unlikely followers.  Each encounter reveals a little more of the treasure that is found in Jesus. These treasures aren’t gold or jewels, but gifts like love, awe, identity and life itself.

Our prayer is that students will not only enjoy the fun of finding a small figure around the school, but also learn to look for Jesus in the pages of Scripture and in the everyday moments of their own lives. Because when we truly find Him, we discover the greatest treasure of all.

May God bless you and your family.
