Audition Success
Our Junior and Senior dance groups have achieved a wonderful milestone. Yesterday, both groups participated in auditions for the St George Performing Arts Festival (SPAF), an annual event that showcases creative and talented student groups from the St George area. SPAF gives students the opportunity to perform on a professional stage, develop their artistic abilities, and engage with peers from other schools.
The audition itself involved performing in front of a panel of judges, who evaluated each group based on creativity, skill, and stage presence.
We’re delighted to announce that both the Junior and Senior groups were successful and have secured a place in the SPAF program for Tuesday, 11th August. This is a significant achievement, as competition for a spot in the program is strong, with many schools from around the area participating.
We are incredibly proud of our students and supporting staff for their hard work, commitment, and for representing our school with such enthusiasm and professionalism beyond the school gates. We look forward to seeing them perform at SPAF and celebrating their success with the school community.
Kindergarten Enrolment 2027
Enrolments are open for Kindergarten 2027. Parents and carers can enrol for Kindergarten by visiting the office and collecting a hard copy of the enrolment form, printing a copy of the form and returning it to the school, or completing the online enrolment. All intake area enrolments will be required to provide 100 points of residential address, and Out of Area enrolments will be submitted to the Out of Area Enrolment Panel for consideration as per the DoE Enrolment Policy.
School tours will be available to book through our website later this term. Further information will be shared through Sentral Parent Portal.
You can access further information through this link or by contacting the school via email or phone.
School Drop Off/Pick Up
The school has recently received concerns from community members about students crossing Bonds Road against pedestrian signals, not using the designated pedestrian crossing on Bailey Parade, as well as instances of parents and carers parking in the Kiss and Ride zone or blocking private driveways.
We understand that drop-off and pick-up times can be busy, but the safety of our students is always our top priority. To ensure everyone remains safe, please take a moment to review and follow these important reminders about driving and parking responsibly around the school.
Uniforms
As we have moved into the colder weather and the winter uniform, we have noticed an increase in students wearing jumpers and jackets that do not align with the school uniform or our official school colours. We kindly remind families that only approved school uniform items should be worn to maintain a consistent and respectful appearance.
Wearing a uniform helps students feel part of their school community. It fosters pride in the school and creates a sense of unity among students. It helps to minimise differences related to clothing choices, socio-economic status, or fashion trends. This can reduce peer pressure and bullying based on what students wear. In addition, uniforms make it easier for students and families to plan outfits each day, saving time and reducing stress.
Our P&C runs a second-hand Uniform Shop in C Block (near Kinder classrooms). Items are $5.00 each. While there is low stock on jackets and sport shirts, there is plenty for families to choose from.
We warmly invite families to kindly donate any good quality school uniform items your child has outgrown to the school office. These donations will be available for resale at the P&C Uniform Shop to support other families in our school community.
Thank you in advance for helping us promote sustainability and school spirit.
