Sport and Campus News

SACSA & Sapsasa Athletics Success

Pilgrim students have enjoyed a fantastic athletics season, highlighted by their participation in both Sapsasa and SACSA events.

Our Sapsasa Athletics Carnival was held on Wednesday 25th March Term 1, where Pilgrim delivered an outstanding performance to be crowned overall champions. This was a wonderful achievement and a testament to the commitment and effort of our students.

More recently, at the SACSA Athletics Carnival on Friday 1st May, students once again represented Pilgrim with pride. They demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and competed with determination throughout the day. Pilgrim was awarded the Challenge Shield, which recognises the school with the highest overall performance relative to its size - an outstanding accomplishment. In addition, Pilgrim finished 2nd overall in the Championship Shield.

These results reflect the hard work and dedication of our students, many of whom trained consistently throughout Term 1 and into the school holidays at our after-school sessions. Their efforts have been well rewarded, and we are incredibly proud of the way they competed and supported one another.

Well done to all involved!

Sapsasa Cross Country

On Tuesday 12th May, students travelled to Belair National Park to compete in the Sapsasa Cross Country event.

We were fortunate to enjoy fantastic weather throughout the day, which helped create a great atmosphere for all competitors. Students demonstrated excellent determination, resilience, and sportsmanship as they tackled the challenging course against strong competition from across the district.

Congratulations to all of our runners for their outstanding efforts and the way they represented Pilgrim on the day. We are very proud of everyone who participated.

A special mention to Zach R and William K who came in first place for their races.

Pedal Prix

An exciting start to the Pedal Prix season for the Campus Tornadoes.  34 Riders and 6 trikes headed to Mount Gambier for a fabulous first event. Congratulations to our U13 riders from Pilgrim; Ned, Zac, Evan and Leo as well as graduates Emilie and Charlize in their trike 'Flare' who won 3rd place in their category. A hard fought race for old scholars Tobi, Josiah, Jai and Austin in 'Wildfire' earning 2nd place in their category.   Our all female team 'Rockette' came 1st in the U20 female category,  well done old scholars Rachel, Abby, Katie and Zoe. Big shout out to 'Dominator' riders Bel and Josh who rode 8hrs with only 3 team members. Other Pilgrim riders Tobias, William, Nathaniel and Thomas rode hard for the teams  'Supremo' and 'Inferno'.

Please join us to thank and support our major sponsor Dominos Aberfoyle Park, owned by Pilgrim old scholar Chris Evans. Chris recently won the National Title for best pizza making team and has also won the accolade of Best Dominoes Store in Australia.

Congratulations to Chris and to Campus Tornadoes.
