2026 Uraidla Show
The 2026 Show Book is now available to download, and soon members will receive their copies. The Show Book contains everything you need to know about Show Day, competition entries, all the wonderful sponsors and community groups who support the Show, and how to become a member. The Show committee are very excited about the program the team is building to keep the whole family entertained throughout the day.
The Uraidla Show is about more than just competition — it’s a chance for our community to come together, showcase local talent, and celebrate everything we love about the Hills. If you have a few hours to spare before the Show or on Show Day, we would love your help. Please follow this link to sign up as one of our volunteers.
General Meeting - Monday 21st September 7pm at Uraidla Hotel
Everyone is welcome to join us for our next General Meeting at the Uraidla Hotel in the Hills Hoist Room on Monday 21st September at 7pm. It’s a great chance to hear the latest updates, share ideas, and be part of the planning for this year’s Show. We’d love to see you there!
Competitive section applications are now open! We've already received some entries but we'd love to see yours. Have a scroll through our website and the 2026 Show book and start planning what you'll be entering in the huge range of categories available.
School involvement: From a school point of view, we will be inviting all of the children to perform on the back of the Big Truck Stage, as per tradition, in choirs and bands on the morning of the Show, between 10 and 11:30am. All students will also be entering artwork into the Show. More details will be sent out early next term. In the meantime, please mark the date on your calendar: Sunday, November 1!

Spring Equinox Parade - community event
Uraidla Hotel — Saturday 19 September 2026
Let’s get together to celebrate the Spring Equinox, (when both day and night are the same length),
We welcome the new season with the Uraidla demon Wurm, 30 metres of sinuating white flesh held aloft by a team of dedicated Wurm walkers.
We will follow the Wurm with Bolster the Giant, an incredibly ugly manifestation of evil, the effigy is paraded to keep people safe at night from monster predations.
At the end of the procession we will have a traditional maypole dance, which without practice could turn into chaos, but that is the fun of it!
There will also be a market, music, acts, food and drinks and the ubiquitous bonfire.
Start time 16:00hrs, four PM for the oldies. Get there 10mins before so you don't miss out!
Start from the gate between the Bowls car park and the oval by the cricket nets.
We will need willing helpers to walk the Wurm, so everyone is welcome.
The procession will end at the front car park of the pub, where we will start the maypole dancing, as many interested kids as we can manage will get a chance to try out for the next time as a more professional troupe.
White clothes are traditional, garlands and ribbons are supplied, but please all wear flowers in your hair and join in with a happy heart.
