Music Showcase stars

Congratulations to our School Band, School Choir, guitar, piano and drum students, Rock Band and our instrumental soloists for their wonderful performances at last night’s Music Showcase. Their talent, confidence and commitment were on full display, and the evening was a celebration of the hard work and enthusiasm of our students. We also extend our sincere thanks to our dedicated music teachers, Peter, Guy, Cara, Rachael and Carol, whose guidance and passion make these opportunities possible. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a rich and vibrant music program at our school, and events like this remind us of the joy and value that music brings to our community.

Learning Discussions

I know many of you have been discussing your child's learning with their teachers throughout the year. If you have any questions at this stage of the year about your child's achievement or progress, we would like to offer the opportunity to discuss this in a second round of Learning Conversations in week 10 this term. This time we won't be booking through an app; you can request a meeting by sending a FrogGo message to your child's teacher, and they will be happy to arrange a time that works best for them and you. 

Community-minded 

We are continuing to explore what it means to be community-minded this term, and how we can contribute to our school and wider community.  Students have been challenged to think of small ways they can help out in your community: 

• Can they ‘fill someone’s bucket’? 
• Can they pick up rubbish on the way to school? 
• Can they offer to help when they see someone needs it?
• Can they thank your sporting coach or music teacher for helping them this year?
• Can they thank the Parents and Friends who organised the disco? 

We would love your help at home by reminding them of this challenge, and encouraging them to think of (and act on) other examples of contributing to the community. And if they can't think of anything else, perhaps they can start at home by cleaning their room! 😊

Last week, Tracey told me a lovely story about being at a footie match recently, further afield, where lots of Uraidla Primary kids came up to say, “Hi Tracey,” and chat to her. This made her feel strongly connected to our school community. I've reminded the students that every time any of us do something like this, it makes our community stronger. 

We're so lucky to have such a connected and welcoming community! 

Disco madness

We all had a wonderful, sparkly time dancing at the Disco last week! A huge thank you to the Parents and Friends, and especially to Amanda Preskett, for organising this special event for our students. The photos say it all! ✨🪩

I’m really looking forward to going away with our Year 6 students to the Flinders Ranges in Week 10. Camp is always such a special experience and a wonderful way to finish the term together. I’d also like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy and restful end to the term. See you at the end-of-term assembly at 1:30 on Friday in Week 10.
