From the Principal's Desk...

Dear Parents and Caregivers

One school year. Four terms. Thirty-nine weeks. 1,425 hours or 85,500 minutes spent learning, growing, and sharing together. Thank you for entrusting us with your children and allowing us to be part of their childhood. It is a privilege we never take for granted.

Jubilee Year of Hope

As we enter a new liturgical year, we leave the Jubilee Year of Hope. In 2025, we journeyed as pilgrims, taking part in prayer, Mass and liturgies, acts of charity such as fundraising for St Vincent de Paul, Catholic Mission, Lifelink and the Cat Haven,  and moments of renewal by keeping hope at the centre of our lives. Thank you to all families who journeyed through this special church year with us.

Our Staff

Their dedication to our students is the heartbeat of our school. From teachers crafting engaging lessons and guiding students through milestones, to education assistants providing invaluable support and care, to our admin team ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Mrs Elise Johnson, our social worker, has been a pillar of compassion and guidance, and Mrs Eli Brien, our canteen manager, has kept smiles on faces with warm meals and treats. This year, our staff have led assemblies, supported sacramental programs, and created countless moments of joy and learning. From Christmas concerts, sports carnivals, Year 6 Camp, the Book Week celebrations, and many excursions and incursions that brought learning to life. Thank you to all of our staff for going above and beyond every single day.

Mrs Mary Tierney Dusenberg's exceptional leadership this term has been inspiring. Her willingness to assist in any task, whether big or small, has shown true servant leadership. From stepping in to support classrooms to helping coordinate events, her presence has made a significant difference. Thank you Mary for ensuring our community continued to thrive.

Catholic School Advisory Council

Our Catholic School Advisory Council's support, guidance, and assistance often happen quietly behind the scenes, but their impact is profound. Thank you to the CSAC for helping shape decisions that keep our school strong and faithful to its mission, including supporting initiatives like upgrades to learning spaces and strategic planning for future growth.

Parent and Friends (P&F)

Whether you donated your time to the P&F, or contributed an item to a disco or raffle, or attended a P&F meeting, your efforts have created experiences that enriched our students’ lives. From organising Mother’s Day and Father’s Day events, to running school discos, and fundraising for resources the P&F have worked tirelessly to make our school a great place for every child and family. We are deeply grateful for the commitment and creativity of those who put their hand up to assist. Thank you!

Our Students

Our students are the reason I come to school each day. Their awe and excitement during events like Book Week dress-ups, PJ Days, and simple every day moments, the lessons they've taught me, and the joy they bring remind me daily to “do something beautiful for God.” Thank you to our students for their laughter, their curiosity, and their kindness. They all make St Helena’s a truly special place.

Class of 2025

Last Friday, our Year 6 students took their final walk through the school as St Helena’s gathered to wish them all the best for their next journey. Some of them may have joined us as little three-year-olds, whilst others have joined the Class of 2025 at different points along the way. We know that the lessons taught and the memories made at St Helena’s will stay with them as they continue to do something beautiful for God.

Best of luck, Class of 2025, I am so proud of you all!
